What is a wedding coordinator?
A wedding coordinator is a professional planner and organizer who is educated and trained in all parts of the wedding. He/she has expertise in areas including, but not limited to traditions, etiquette, cultural ceremonies, problem solving, attire, food service, flowers, scriptures and readings, and music. A reputable wedding coordinator should be a member of a wedding organization in which members agree to uphold a Code of Ethics and meet certain standards for membership. |
Do I need a wedding coordinator?
These days, no bride should be without a wedding coordinator. His/her fee should be included from the beginning as a part of the wedding budget. You will most definitely recoup the fee in the money you will save in other areas of your planning, thanks to knowledge and advice from your coordinator. Today's wedding can take an average of 250 hours (!) to plan. With careers and social engagements, most people find it very difficult to do all of the research and work required to be able to get the best quality and service for their money. A coordinator will do all of that for you, saving you time and money, giving you the wedding you dreamed of as a child, and allowing you to enjoy your engagement and wedding with your loved ones. |
How can a wedding coordinator help me?
Typically in families today, the bride and groom both work and so do their parents. If either has other children, there is school, homework, and activities to participate in. That doesn't leave much time for planning a wedding, or researching vendors and contract questions. A wedding coordinator can keep track of all your plans, recommend vendors that will provide you quality service and stay within your budget, and take care of all the time-consuming details for you. She will also be a mediator when differences of opinion arise between family members. |
When is the best time to hire a wedding coordinator?
It is best to hire your coordinator as soon as you set the wedding date. However, we offer a variety of services to accommodate almost any planning situation. If you have begun the planning process and start to feel overwhelmed, it is never too late to contact us. No matter how little or how much you have planned, we can help you bring the rest together. |
Do I need a contract with my coordinator?
You should have a service agreement in writing with your wedding coordinator, and any other wedding professional who provides services for your wedding. It should be signed by both of you, and specifically state the terms that you are both agreeing to. |
Can I afford a wedding coordinator?
As stated above, the coordinators fee should be included in the budget, and not viewed as an added expense. Often a coordinator will save you money by showing you ways to get the same result and spend less. You should be able to have the wedding you desire, and even with the coordinator's fee, do it within your budget. |
